Transportation/Escort:

Transportation services with a sighted escort are provided to and from medical offices, grocery stores, and other essential locations.

Chore:

Depending on the needs of the individual, assistance is provided for shopping, mail reading, letter writing, and for a wide variety of other typical household tasks.

Talking Books:

The program offers tens of thousands of books and magazines in braille, large print, cassette, and flexible record formats to eligible visually impaired and physically disabled individuals. Special equipment designed to meet clients' individual needs is supplied and serviced by BCAB.

Life Skills Education:

Educational programs and community resources are utilized to provide practical training in daily living skills. BCAB offers instruction in personal and home maintenance, nutrition, consumer awareness, and the use of specially adapted accommodations for the visually impaired. Quality of life skills are available for group or individual classes.

Supportive Services:

A wide variety of social, recreational, and supportive group activities are offered year-round.

Counseling:

This program informs clients about their visual impairment, introduces independence issues, defines resources and alternatives, and promotes self-advocacy.

Housing:

Assistance is provided for clients in obtaining suitable housing and managing household needs. Advocacy is provided in matters involving landlords, utilities, and home finances.
